Q: When is rent due?
A: Rent is due the 1st of the month. After 6:00PM on the 5th, a $15 late fee is added to your account. After 6:00PM on the 12th, another $15 late fee is added to your account and an eviction notice is posted on your door. If you are having financial difficulties, come talk to Terrie about getting on a payment plan, which can be done once a semester.
Q: Can I have guests?
A: Guests may stay 7 nights without a fee. After 7 days they must sign a guest contract at the office and pay $10/night. All guests require approval of the house and a guarantor residing in the house. Contact Kim for additional information.
Q: How do I break my contract?
A: Once your contract is signed by our office, you become financially responsible for the entire contract.
You can get a contract break with proper documentation and a $75 fee for the following reasons:
- Departing school and not enrolling in another local school
- Draft by military
- Medical reasons
- Marriage
- Studying abroad
- Returning home after studying abroad
If you don't fit into of these categories, we will replace you with a name on your house's waitlist for a $75 fee.
If there is no one on the waitlist, you must find someone on your own or wait until we can fill the contract
If you find someone on your own, they must be a student and get approved by your house.
Your contract will not be broken until the new person has signed a contract and your have checked out of your room with your membership coordinator.
If you feel that your circumstances need special attention, please contact Kim to schedule a meeting with one of the subcommittees of the BOD.
Q: Can I use another houses’ facilities?
A: Yes, amenities such as the Pearl Street swimming pool and the 21st Street recreation room are open to all members. You are expected to observe all their house rules.
